Class features: Metamagic Specialist (Ex): Altaer may apply Metamagic feats that he knows to his sorcerer spells without increasing the casting times. This ability even allows him to quicken sorcerer spells with the Quicken Spell feat. Altaer may use this ability up to 4 times per day (3 + Intelligence modifier). Searing Spell [Metamagic]: +1 spell level, applied only to spells with the fire descriptor; Altaer’s spell is so hot that it ignores fire resistance, and creatures with immunity to fire still take half damage (they are still entitled to a saving throw to reduce damage, if applicable). [Gaia’s Dream houserule] – Creatures with cold subtype take +1 damage per die; this damage stacks with the +1 per die for cold vulnerability, if applicable. Energy Substitution (fire) [Metamagic]: +0 spell level; Altaer may modify any spell with an energy descriptor to use fire instead. Energy Admixture (fire) [Metamagic]: +4 spell levels; Altaer modifies a spell that uses one type of energy (including fire spells) to add an equal amount of fire. This effectively doubles the spell’s normal damage dice with an equal amount of dice added for fire damage. Fiery Burst (Su): Altaer creates a 10’ square (2x2) burst of flames for 1d6 fire dmg/spell level, Reflex half, DC 17+spell level (typically 7d6 fire damage/Reflex DC 24 for half). Residual Magic [Tactical]: Enduring Potency: When Altaer casts from his daily allotment of spells, he may cast the same spell the following round from a wand or scroll and treat the second spell as though it was cast by him (for the purpose of caster level, save DC and any other effects). Lingering Metamagic: When Altaer casts a spell affected by one or more of his own Metamagic feats (not those from items), and then casts the same spell in the following round, he may apply one of the Metamagic effects from the first casting to the second spell.
