King Thaggha Wraithscorch

The eight major Orc tribes are unified under the banner of King Thaggha Wraithscorch, who led the orcs to victory against a massive undead invasion in the ten years prior to the Convergence (C.G. 6254 – 6264).  This invasion was launched by the Dracolich Vadarixian, who inhabits the icy Isle of Kylowill to the northeast (four ice mountains, dotted with ruins on the continent map).  Vadarixian sought to take advantage of the orcs during their vulnerable nation-building and expansion phase, but Chieftain Thaggha of the (then called) Stoneskull tribe rallied the tribes and unified them under his banner after receiving a holy vision from Anushar (Arinna) and completing a quest which took him into the depths of the Underlands to earn his magical greatsword, Wraithscorch.  He renamed his tribe after his new weapon, unified the other seven major tribes, and drove back the hordes of Vadarixian’s undead from the Orclands, although the Dracolich herself was not defeated.  Thaggha was named King by the Elder Lodge, a council of eight shamans, one from each major tribe, who had previously overseen the nation’s political affairs.  Thaggha wisely invited the Elder Lodge to permanently remain members of his court and has kept them on as trusted advisers.  He rules from his mighty keep at the south end of the great orc capital city, Thran-Gaar.
