Salient Points

• Party Meets Jarton Drakskye (Dragon Shaman from anonther Prime known as Aereth, a world of great turmoil and evil)
• The Exile is trying to infiltrate a place of ancient evil known as Voidstone Sanctuary
  • Voidstone Sanctuary was built by Shi'krael, a servant of Kharandros. It contained a central piller made of negative energy (a pillar of anihilation)
  • Voidstone Sanctuary was built as a doomsday device, so that if Shi'krael's forces were overcome, he could hold the planet hostage.
  • Voidstone Sanctuary is overseen by a creature known as an Ether Gaunt. This creature wears an ancient artifact of black crystal known as The Mask of Black Tears. This mask is theorized to make a mirror image of whatever enemy it faces.
  • Another party of adventurer's killed Shi'krael before he could issue the command to set the device in motion
• The Exile wants the mask
• Our mission (And well DUH, of course we accepted it!): To infiltrate Voidstone Sanctuary before the Exile's people, Destroy the mask, deactivate the pillar

Back in Valgate, @ the Temple of Bahamut

Nerida 2

• We used the scrolls we were given, buffed ourselves out the wazoo, and teleported to the underground sea where Voidstone Sanctuary is located.
• The building is covered in runes of Darkspeech
  • Kaelin gets weirded out, panicks & swims away. Rockbounder catches her, and she takes Love Potion #11 to try to overcome the negatives effects of the Runes of Darkspeech on her brain.
• We find the door. Kaeling defaces it with LP#10 paste. We can't open the door, unless someone uses a word of Darkspeech. Acacia takes the hit, using the Tome of Flesh & Mirrors (obtained in Sigil from Rule of 3) and gets a soul stain.
• Voidstone Sanctuary is very unkempt. Its also infested with w/ Golothoma demons. We kicked their butts, along w/ 4 Soulbound Assassins, and 2 Shi'krael Vanguard (Big mechanized cybernetic constructs)
  • Rockbounder finished off one of the Golothomas
  • Ayo used Holy Word to banish the other, and blind & deafen 3 of the 4 Soulbound Assasins
  • Altear burned up quite a number of things
  • I stopped being able to track note-taking & battle healing at this point, and concentrated on the battle-healing.
  • We won the fight!
• We entered the room with the pillar, Ayo got stunned. The nasty Ether Gaunt summoned our mirror selves (Mirror Altear was pretty, which made real Altear angsty)The floor was covered with clutching souls, which seem to be fueling the pillar mechanism. <Nick Lore Dumps about Assaria>,
• The Ether Gaunt lifted the stun off Ayo so that Mirror Ayo could act. Acacia took out Mirror Kaelin & Mirror Acacia.
• Kaelin began using diplomacy checks to make the souls happy, this made the pillar not work.
• Ether Gaunt got cranky
• Altear dispeled his Mirror Self & the Ether Gaunt, Then the party beat them to death with weapons & magic.
• Ayo used 5 turning attempts, with the encourage ment of Acacia & Altear, to assist Kaelin in freeing the trapped souls.
• We teleported back to Valgate.
• Jarton went back to Bahamut's pad.
• Ayo moved into the Luminous Order Barracks.
• Acacia was taken by Ayo to the Temple of Shandae, where the stain on her soul was removed (in return for a service undertaken for the Temple which has yet to be decided)

Treasure summary:

• 4 adamantine long swords
• components/technological oddities/gems (worth 2,000gp)
• ring of counterspell (went to Altaer)
